Wellness  + Beauty Expert and TV Host, Tai Beauchamp joins Brown Girl Jane as Chief Brand Officer

Brown Girl Jane, the leading CBD brand for women of color, announced today the appointment of Tai Beauchamp to its Executive Team as Co-founder and Chief Brand Officer.  In her new role, Beauchamp will lead the marketing, creative & consumer engagement efforts.

Brown Girl Jane broke ground in the cluttered, billion-dollar cannabidiol (CBD) industry in December 2019, with early praise from Refinery 29, Vice, Hello Beautiful and MadameNoire. Founded by sisters Malaika Jones Kebede and Nia Jones Alugbin, Brown Girl Jane began as a quest to bring premium, plant-based CBD products to women of color, to help them better manage their wonderfully full lives...naturally.

Nia Jones, Chief Impact Officer,  shares, “Women of Color suffer disproportionately from anxiety disorders, toxic levels of chronic stress and physical pain.  As black women, we knew this demographic would continuously be balancing hectic lives; being everything to everyone.”

Chief Executive Officer, Malaika Jones Kebede continues, “While we couldn’t change the stimuli in their lives, we could  provide these women with a collection of high-quality, wellness solutions designed expressly for her.”

“As one of the most influential voices in multicultural marketing, we’re thrilled to welcome Tai into our rapidly growing company,” Jones Kebede shares.  “Her branding, beauty and consumer engagement expertise are a perfect marriage to our ethos and unique business and philanthropic backgrounds.

“When I first experienced the Brown Girl jane collection, I was blown away by the efficacy.” shared Beauchamp.  “Integrating Brown Girl jane into my wellness practice allows me to naturally support my immune system and regulate my mental health.  This range was a game-changer for me and it became my obsession to introduce it to women, especially women of color everywhere.”

Beauchamp continues, “In the US, Black buying power will rise from $1.3 trillion in 2017 to $1.54 trillion in 2022 , outpacing non-hispanic White consumers by 3%.  Not only does this brand make sense qualitatively, but with the US CBD market expected to exceed $20B by 2024,  the business potential for this pioneering brand is undeniable.”

The synergy between Brown Girl Jane co-founders and Beauchamp extends beyond a shared desire to offer curated health and beauty solutions to women of color.  All three are alumni of Spelman College, one of the nations most prestigious institutes of higher education.

“Spelman’s motto is ‘a choice to change the world’,” Beauchamp shares proudly. “Malaika and Nia each built their reputations in their respective fields through an unwavering commitment to the advancement of underrepresented communities. Being agents-of-change runs deep in their DNA.  To have the opportunity to join such a disruptive company, supporting women's health on such a large scale was irresistible.”
